Famous for its Ferris wheel in front of the Governing Mayor's seat, this Christmas market tempts visitors with Old Berlin style market alleys, a circular ice rink, and culinary delights.
Visitors to the Christmas market at Berlin Town Hall near Alexanderplatz dive a little bit into historic Berlin with street artists such as organ grinders and musicians, an Old Berlin setting and traditional stalls selling authentic arts and crafts. Performers present scenes of life in Berlin as it happened at this place one hundred years ago.
Nostalgic Rides and a Fairytale Forest
The market's famous giant Ferris wheel provides an excellent view of the festively illuminated Berlin city center. Historic carousels will delight both children and adults, while a trip on the miniature train through a fantastic, snowy fairytale forest is a special treat exclusively for the little ones. Another popular highlight of this market is the 600 square metre ice rink where skaters can circle around the impressive Neptune Fountain.
Santa Claus is Coming
There are a lot of tasty culinary delights waiting for the visitors - from the traditional mulled wine, or Glühwein, to roasted almonds, bratwursts, freshly baked bread and gingerbread. As a very special guest, Santa Clause will be visiting the Christmas market. Three times a day he rides on his sleigh pulled by his reindeer over the market in the Berlin air and is happy to give hugs and pose for a photograph.
