A festive atmosphere, extraordinary stalls and traditional craftsmanship: welcome to one of Berlin's most popular Christmas markets.
Every year, the Christmas market attracts around 800,000 visitors to the historic setting on Gendarmenmarkt. Due to construction work, the Christmas market moved to nearby Bebelplatz from 2022 to 2024. This year, it returns to its traditional spot on Gendarmenmarkt.
The Christmas market "Weihnachtszauber" on Gendarmenmarkt is known and loved for its wide range of artistic offerings. A large tent serves as a demonstration space for craftspeople - here, wood carvers, comb makers and tailors show their skills to visitors. Handmade candles, toys and decorative items can be purchased as unique gifts for friends and family.
In addition to the traditional roasted almonds, chestnuts and mulled wines, visitors will also find more unusual foods and drinks at this Christmas market. Food stalls and restaurants sell everything from sweet and savory snacks to traditional German dishes. In the heated and covered restaurant area, you can enjoy your food in a cozy atmosphere.
