In the middle of Grunewald forest lies one of Berlin's oldest restaurants: the cozy Rodelhütte with its beer garden.
After an outing in the fresh air with family or friends, visitors to the beer garden at the Rodelhütte can enjoy German home cooking, Berlin dishes, tasty grilled food or cakes and four different beers, fresh from the tap and, of course, various bottled beers.
Until 1930, there was a ski jump behind the Rodelhütte - a popular place for ski jumping. The ski jump was later converted into a toboggan hill. A snack bar was added in 1931 to refresh the tobogganers. Since then, this special place has been known for its hearty snacks and also for the family atmosphere that still prevails there.
