In a compelling emotional spiral, two bodies engage in dialogue. Beginning from a place of safety and trust, they move through shifting states of relationship, from joy and exhaustion to conflict, understanding and mutual support. Just as human emotions are constantly evolving, this structured work of contact improvisation unfolds as a continuous cycle.

Production and Ensemble

Interpersonal relationships become ever more significant during times of change and personal growth. We are currently at a point in our own lives where we are experiencing this ourselves. Friendships and romantic relationships alike confront us with a new intensity, revealing ever more complex and multifaceted dynamics. This experience became the starting point for the creation of our first original choreography, zwischenkörpern.

In our duet, we explore different states of human relationships and the emotions they encompass. Beginning with a shared breath—a place of safety and trust—an emotional spiral unfolds through the space. Together, we experience joy, exhaustion and conflict, striving to understand one another before finding mutual support. Because people continually encounter changing emotions throughout their lives, the work can be understood as an ongoing cycle.

zwischenkörpern is a structured contact improvisation in which our bodies remain in constant dialogue. It combines set choreographic elements and movement qualities with space for improvisation, making the duet both repeatable and unique with each performance.

At a time of increasing social division, interpersonal relationships have become ever more significant for us—not only on a personal level, but also within society as a whole. For this reason, it is important to us to cultivate openness, to remain in dialogue with one another, and to place our trust in human connection.
