les possédés

Toula Limnaios presents a magnificent ugliness. This small world quickly descends into a fascinating cruelty, an excess of abuse. Toula Limnaios’ dancers are truly possessed. Between attraction and repulsion, their bodies explore the overload of our society and radiate the cruelty of our time. What face should we give to the violence that invades our everyday lives a little more each day? How can we rid ourselves of this thin, fatal social layer that clings to our skin? It is as if we were unwaveringly guided by a guru, a dark force that determines our robotic, uniform lives. The ambivalence of the dominated. [Léa Chalmont]

The cie. toula limnaios is funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion. The production was supported in 2009 by the Senate Department for Culture of the State of Berlin as well as by the conceptual funding of the Fonds Darstellende Künste e. V. with funds from the Federal Government.
