The Taxifilmfest brings exciting films on the subject of taxis and mobility to the big screen—from documentaries to feature films and short films.
This year marks the third edition of the Taxifilmfest. From hundreds of submissions, a handful of films from various countries will once again be selected that use the taxi as a stage for encounters, love, hate, and existential questions. In addition to cinematic narratives, the taxi film festival also sheds light on the background of the globalized taxi industry. The motto for 2026 is "Taxi Culture."
Originally, the Taxifilmfest was a protest against the appropriation of public space by Uber and similar companies. Last year, the films were still shown in a large taxi. This year, the festival is bigger, more international, and more diverse, with a supporting program of discussions and events at various locations.
