This year's FrauenWelten Film Festival kicks off with “Strawberries” by Laïla Marrakchi.

The “Filmfest FrauenWelten” features films about women who fight for human rights, self-determination, and against violence.

The 26th edition will feature over 30 feature films and documentaries from more than 20 countries, addressing topics such as violence against women and women’s rights in Cambodia and Ukraine, among others. The 2026 festival will be under the patronage of Ukrainian FEMEN activist Inna Shevchenko, who will be in attendance for the opening on November 18. Panels, audience discussions with participating filmmakers, and an exhibition round out the program.
