“So This Is Christmas” kicks off the 2025 Christmas Film Festival.

Christmas galore: The Christmas film festival is the first of its kind and takes place at the Moviemento cinema in Kreuzberg.

The Berlin Weihnachtsfilmfestival (Christmas Film Festival) wants to offer a home to all those who want to escape the Christmas rush or who don't have their loved ones nearby at Christmas time. Unconventional Christmas films are shown, such as Christmas comedies, but also critical, tragic, satirical and gruesome films about the festival of love.This year, films from 25 different countries will be shown.

• Opening film: So This Is Christmas: Documentary from Ireland
• Sankta Lucia: Horror film from Sweden
• When Santa Was a Communist: Drama from Bosnia and Herzegovina
• This is not a Christmas movie: Comedy from the Netherlands
• The Uncle: Comedy from Serbia and Croatia
