International Short Film Festival Berlin

Every year in autumn, the International Short Film Festival attracts cinephiles from all over the world to Berlin. The festival presents about 400 films from over 120 countries.

Every year, the team around festival director Heinz Hermanns selects the short films from 6000 submissions from over 120 countries. With 20,000 visitors and many international guests, the Interfilm Short Film Festival is the largest of its kind in Berlin and an important global institution for short film.

Short Film Festival Competitions

In addition to the international and German competitions, there is also a competition for documentary films. The films in the "Confrontations" program provide insights into socio-political backgrounds around the world. The competitions "Eject - the long night of the absurd film" and the "Green Screen Award" are also back. Over 60 programs, events, talks, panels, workshops, parties, and various locations await the audience at the 41st edition of Interfilm.
