Christmas Lights on Kurfürstendamm

Weihnachtsbeleuchtung

Every year, the famous boulevard in Berlin's City West is decorated with numerous fairy lights and festive illuminations about a month before the Christmas holidays.

Around 500 trees with Christmas decorations light up along Ku'damm and Tauentzienstraße every year. Three kilometers between Wittenbergplatz and Lehniner Platz are usually illuminated. The large illuminated figures - such as the nutcracker on Brandenburgische Straße and the snowman at the Europa-Center - are particularly eye-catching every year. The oversized Buddy Bear (Halensee traffic circle) and the glowing Santa Claus (near Leibnizstraße) are also a must. The two 20-meter-high entrance portals with stars are also eye-catching. A Christmas tree is also regularly erected on the central reservation of the boulevard.

This year, the lights will be switched on at 6 p.m. on November 29.
