Democracy Festival: 75 Years of the Basic Law

The German Basic Law celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. Everyone is invited to join in the celebrations for three days.

Attendees can look forward to a varied program organized by the Federal Government, the Federal President, the Federal Constitutional Court, the federal states and civil actors. For three days, hundreds of events will take place around the Chancellery and Paul Löbe House.

Selected Program Highlights

  • Talk with Philipp Lahm and Celia Šašić on Friday, May 24 at 3 p.m.
  • Insect tasting on Paul-Löbe-Allee
  • Sports activity area in the Spreebogen
  • Escape room with riddles and puzzles about the Basic Law on John-Foster-Dulles-Allee
  • Poetry slam workshops with Björn Högsdal
  • Children's and youth press conference in the Tipi am Kanzleramt, on Saturday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon
  • Interviews with judges of the Federal Constitutional Court in the pavilion of the Federal Constitutional Court
