  • Dark Matter: Forest Winterlights (1)

In the outdoor area of the immersive "Dark Matter" exhibition, "Winterlights" is a large-scale light and sound installation that creates a Christmassy atmosphere.

A total of 200 fir trees of different sizes are illuminated with 100,000 LEDs during the audio-visual show, transforming the grounds into an undulating Christmas forest. The light spectacle is accompanied by atmospheric music from Dutch composer and producer Chris Kuijten. The show lasts 40 minutes and is repeated throughout the evening. To make things even more festive, mulled wine and children's punch will be served.

A special highlight this year will make the eyes of young and old alike light up. Visitors can glide through the art installation on an ice rink. The rink can only be used in conjunction with a visit to the exhibition.

About Dark Matter

The immersive exhibition Dark Matter has been open to visitors in Rummelsburg since the beginning of June 2021. Light artist Christopher Bauder and his design studio Whitevoid use expansive light installations to transport visitors into a parallel cosmos that seems to consist only of light, movement and sound. A visit to Winterlights is not included in the admission price for the Dark Matter permanent exhibition.
