The race of the all-electric motorsport series Formula E will probably take place at the former Tempelhof Airport in Berlin again in 2027.

The Formula E cars, which can produce up to 340 hp, accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in under three seconds, but are generally barely louder than a normal passenger car. Their top speed is up to 280 km/h.

From Tempelhof via Karl-Marx-Allee to Tempelhof

After the premiere race of the 2015 race series was held on the grounds of Tempelhofer Feld, the organizers moved the teams to Mitte, on the border with Friedrichshain, in 2016. They raced along Karl-Marx-Allee, Straußberger Platz and Lichtenberger Straße. In 2017, the racing circus returned to the former Tempelhof Airport.
