In September, Berlin becomes the capital of literature. Around 200 authors from over 40 countries are expected at the International Literature Festival

The Berlin International Literature Festival presents the literary diversity of contemporary prose and poetry from all over the world. Renowned authors contribute to a varied program alongside new international discoveries. The program was co-developed by Curator in Residence Helon Habila.

Participating Authors

In 2024, about 150 authors from 50 countries were guests. Rachel Cusk, Olivia Laing, Mithu Sanyal, Elif Shafak, Aleida Assmann, Ben Okri, Paul Lynch, Thomas Korsgaard, Iida Turpeinen, Tahir Hamut Izgil, Beata Umubyeyi Mairesse, Okwiri Oduor, Novuyo Rosa Tshuma, Nnedi Okorafor and Hiroko Oyamada, among others, were at the Berlin International Literature Festival 2024.
