Opera Festival at the Berlin State Opera

Staatsoper Berlin

The Festival Days at the Berlin State Opera present great music each year around the Easter holidays.

The Festtage ("festival days") at the Berlin State Opera are an opera festival created in 1996 by the opera's general music director Daniel Barenboim. Since its creation, the festival has offered outstanding musical theater and first-class concerts featuring international opera stars for an international audience. In addition to premieres, the festival also presents new stage adaptations of opera classics.

Focus on Bellini's "Norma"

This year's festival will be dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini. His opera "Norma" will be staged in a new production for the Festtage 2025. The Festtage concert, in the hands of Simone Young, is associated with Pierre Boulez, who was born exactly 100 years ago and was closely associated with the Staatskapelle Berlin and its orchestra as its honorary conductor. Works by Alban Berg and Gustav Mahler will also be performed.
