The small district of Blankenburg celebrates the holiday season with its very own Christmas festival, which has been taking place for over ten years.

The market stalls offer mainly hand-made products ranging from children's toys and stuffed animals to artistic ceramics and vases. After dark, the Christmas festival unfolds its full charm when several bonfires and fairy lights bathe the square in warm light and mulled wine, cookies and roasted almonds make the air smell Christmassy.

Entertainment for Children and Adults

Numerous entertainment offers await young visitors, including face painting, pony rides, a fairy tale hut, a Christmas caravan and more. Adults will not be bored at the Blankenburg Christmas Festival either: they can take part in the Christmas carol singing or listen to the festive choir concert in the village church.
