Pre-sale for 29-euro ticket starts

Einfahrender Zug der Linie S3

Passengers wait on a platform at Zoologischer Garten station for an incoming S-Bahn train on line S3.

Advance sales for the Berlin 29-euro ticket start today, Tuesday. The ticket can be purchased online from Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, among others. However, it is only valid from July 1. The ticket is sold with a minimum term of one year, after which it can be canceled monthly.

The new ticket can be used on all regional trains, S-Bahn trains, subway lines, trams and buses within the AB fare zone, i.e. up to the Berlin city limits. The 29-euro ticket is intended to be an inexpensive alternative to the Deutschlandticket, with which the entire public transport network can be used nationwide for 49 euros a month.

29-euro ticket valid from July 1

In addition to online sales, the ticket can also be purchased at BVG customer centers. The ticket is not sold at ticket machines. The ticket is issued as a cell phone ticket or alternatively as a plastic card. Like the nationwide Deutschlandticket, the ticket is personalized. Ticket holder may take children under the age of 6 or a dog along for free.
