Squids with legs several meters long and giant geckos in bright colors: At the Festival of Giant Kites in Berlin, unique kites up to 40 meters long will provide a flying spectacle above Tempelhofer Feld.

In addition to the demonstrations of the kites, visitors can learn interesting information about kite flying. A stage program with music and talks will provide entertainment. Young visitors will love the kite-making workshop, bouncy castles and face painting. Sports and cultural clubs from the districts of Neukölln, Tempelhof and Schöneberg will present their work with varied performances.

Stunt Shows and Fireworks

Although the giant kites are the undisputed highlight, the family festival on Tempelhofer Feld has more to offer. Popular program items include the stunt kite demonstrations, where World and European champions will be demonstrating their skills. The giant superheroes that take to the skies are also particularly popular with children. This year, Super Mario, Batman and Superman are expected. At the end of the day, there will be a small fireworks display.
