Studio programme

Target group

The studio programme was initiated and developed by the Studio Office of the bbk Berlin (Kulturwerk) in cooperation with the Berlin Senate and other partners. The programme administers a wide range of subsidized, rent-controlled studios and studio apartments which are reserved for artists and allocated by a selection committee appointed by the Senate.

Eligibility and conditions

• Studios are allocated to artists by the selection committee on the basis of their professional status and urgency.
• Artists applying to this programme must live and work in Berlin.
• Income ceilings apply to this funding programme.

Funding volume

The Studio Office provides advice on finding a suitable studio and supports the maintenance of existing studio space. A newsletter is published regularly by the Studio Office listing currently available studios and studio apartments subsidized through this programme as well as suitable commercial options.

Call for applications and application procedure

The Studio Office at the bbk berlin (Kulturwerk) calls for applications on a regular basis, processes applications and manages the allocation of studios. Vacant and newly available studios are listed regularly on the bbk Kulturwerk online portal.
