Exchange meeting for apartment hunting
The Welcome Centre Berlin supports voluntary and full-time initiatives and persons who help refugees in the search for apartments. The organisation of a regular exchange meeting is a key feature of this focus on work and should not only offer the exchange of information, but also insights into concrete needs and opportunities for action in this area. The next exchange meeting, “Apartment hunting for refugees” takes place on 9th April 2019. Would you like to participate in the next meeting and/or receive information on the agenda? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
Working in Berlin: We did it! Immigrant women tell their stories
In 2019, the Welcome Centre Berlin will also organise another story-telling circle on the topic of “Working in Berlin: We did it! Immigrant women tell their stories”. Taking part this time round: The Berlin women’s and migrant women’s projects BOX66, ISI e.V., KOBRA, MUMM, Raupe und Schmetterling e.V., TIO e.V. and VIA – Verband für Interkulturelle Arbeit (Association for Intercultural Work).
The idea of the story-telling circle: Women, who have fled or migrated to Berlin in the last 10 years tell other women how, despite all the obstacles, they managed to find work or an education that corresponds to their qualifications and wishes. We are looking for women with positive and inspiring stories, who can show other women where they can get help and what they can do to overcome migration crises.
The women should have lived in Germany for a maximum of 10 years and be willing to share their stories with a large audience. Additionally, they do not need to be able to speak German.
Would you like to be a role model? Or do you know other women who would be suitable? Then contact us by email
