Road safety

In Berlin around 14.000 individuals are injured in road accidents each year. Most of the victims are children, teenagers, young adults and elderly people. The Berlin urban development department is working to provide increased safety for all road users by means of different measures.

Mobility and road safety education

The projects and programmes for mobility and road safety education are important elements of our work for more road safety. They aim at considerably reducing the number of road accident casualties. more

Traffic Safety Programme

With the Traffic Safety Programme "Berlin: Mobile and Safe" 2020, the Berlin urban development department has taken major steps to improve road safety.

Progress report on road safety

Since 1992 the number of traffic accidents per year has considerably decreased. All information on road safety are available in the road safety report.
