Bis zum 14. Februar gibt es keinen Präsenzunterricht in Berlins Schulen, für Abschlussklassen gelten besondere Regelungen.
Die Kitas sind bis zum 14. Februar im Notbetrieb. Der Betreuung in Kita und Primarstufe liegt eine Liste systemrelevanter Berufe zugrunde.

Youth Work

Youth work is aimed at all young people between the ages of 6 and 27. It includes youth association work, open child work and open youth work as well as community-oriented programmes.

Multifaceted

Youth work is aimed at all young people between the ages of 6 and 27. It includes youth association work, open child work and open youth work as well as community-oriented programmes. The main focus areas include extracurricular youth education, cultural youth education, international youth work and children’s and youth recreation. Children’s and youth work promotes the development of democratic competence and a self-reliant personality.

Voluntary

The voluntary and open character of youth work enables its programmes to focus on the interests and living environment of young people. These activities promote social responsibility and encourage social commitment.

Inclusive

What all programmes have in common is that they pursue the goal of self-determined and equal participation by all young people, regardless of their gender, special needs, religion or ethnicity. That is why the inclusion approach is already practised in many projects and activities.

Youth work in Berlin strengthened

Child and youth work in Berlin has been strengthened and secured for the future with the implementation of the new Youth Promotion and Participation Act. The main goal of the new law is democracy education and the participation of young people.

The report “Strengthening youth work in Berlin – legal standards and better financing” analyses the current legal and financial situation of youth work in Berlin and suggests solutions. The report was commissioned from the youth welfare experts Prof. Reinhard Wiesner and Prof. Bernd Schlueter by Youth Senator Sandra Scheeres.

There is hardly a youth work organisation in Berlin that does not cooperate with schools. The cooperation is multifaceted. Youth work activities, for example school clubs, are specifically incorporated into the school environment. More information
