Climate partnership Berlin-Buenos Aires
At an international workshop held at the Berlin Town Hall from 1 to 3 July 2014, the 14 climate partnerships between cities in Germany, Latin America, and the Caribbean presented their action programs on climate protection and adapting to the consequences of climate change after spending the last year and a half developing these programs together. Around 120 people took part in the workshop; all 26 of the cities involved in the second phase sent municipal policymakers and administrators and representatives from civil society. On the first day of the workshop, external stakeholders also had the opportunity to learn about the work of the climate partnerships and to talk to the cities’ representatives. The high-level guests on the first day included ambassadors from Bolivia, Costa Rica, Jamaica, und Nicaragua, as well as representatives from the Argentinean, Brazilian, and Columbian embassies.
