03. 07. 2014

The Berlin Zoo and Tierpark and the Los Angeles Zoo would like to exchange animals in order to improve the genetic diversity of each zoo’s population. The director of the Berlin Zoo and Tierpark, Andreas Knieriem, and the American ambassador to Germany, John Emerson, signed an agreement on such exchanges at the Berlin Zoo on Thursday. Staff from each zoo will also be visiting their respective partner city. In addition, this strategic partnership includes research on bats living in the wild and joint efforts to raise funds to protect endangered species. You can find more information here
