160 Years of German-Japanese Friendship

Deutsch Japanische Gesellschaft

Germany and Japan are celebrating the 160th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year. To mark this occasion and as part of the Berlin-Tokyo city partnership, the Deutsch-Japanische Gesellschaft Berlin and the Senate Chancellery are organizing a lecture series at the Red Town Hall.

The series will open on Tuesday, 7 September 2021, at 6:00 p.m. with a talk by Herbert Eichele. His lecture, “1861 – 2021: 160 Jahre Eulenburg-Vertrag” (1861 – 2021: 160 Years of the Eulenburg Treaty), takes listeners on an illustrated tour of the history of German-Japanese relations.
