Promotional Video for the Games Industry in the Baltic Sea Region

We are proud to present the promotional video that was produced with our partners from Baltic Game Industry (BGI) to showcase the games industry in the Baltic Sea Region.

The promotional video “Baltic Sea Games – We are the Baltic Sea Region which Berlin produced with its partners in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland in the context of the EU-funded BGI project, introduces viewers to a true ecosystem in the Baltic Sea Region.

As Governing Mayor Michael Müller put it in the video, “The Baltic Sea Region is a games industry hotspot.” World-famous AAA games and fantastic games by indie developers are born here. For the last three years, the BGI project has fostered expert knowledge, incubator expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and creative potential galore. Transnational collaboration yielded a wealth of experience that will benefit Berlin’s games sector for years to come. Of course, the reverse is also true: Berlin is one of the driving forces of the games industry in the Baltic Sea Region.

As one of Europe’s most engaging metropolises, Berlin draws young people from all over the world – including a lot of talented young game designers. Berlin also offers many different options for aspiring game designers to learn their craft; the renowned bachelor’s degree program in games design at the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin is just one example. The state of Berlin uses a wide range of instruments to invest in the development of young talents. One of the most successful of these is the cultural funding for games provided by our partner Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.

We would like to thank all of the Berliners interviewed in this video for their contribution to this impressive joint undertaking. Special praise goes to our project partners, BGZ Berliner Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit mbH (project lead), and the Lithuanian Innovation Center, which had primary responsibility for producing the video.
