CASTLE AND CITADEL - History that lives in stories - in the Commander's House
Next to the ticket office in the gatehouse is the entrance to the upper floor into the exhibition. It is the
ideal starting point for any exploration of the citadel, also because at the end of the exhibition you can
reach the Julius Tower.
- In the representative rooms of the Commandant's House you can discover the history of the castle and
fortress. There are models, maps and plans, paintings and photographs, archaeoarcheological findings,
tin figure dioramas, weapons and helmets. Everyday objects from the times of occupation can tell stories
of historical events.

STADTGESCHICHTLICHES MUSEUM - Exciting Spandau - in the Zeughaus
On the first floor you get an overview of the history of Spandau.
On the upper floor there are special exhibitions, currently until 30.04.2023
"Raus.Raus?Raus!" about the emigrant station Ruhleben, in the 19th century.
- More than 300 objects tell of the settlement and development of the Havel city, which has only been part
of Berlin since 1920. Representative of the industry that was based here in the 1920s is a roadworthy
Hudson Essex and a collection of historic Siemens small electrical appliances. Film props from the
studios in Eiswerder with film clips in the "cinema" are also very popular.
- A branch of the Stadtgeschichtliches Museum is also located in the Gothic House
in the old town of SpandauStr. 32. 13597 Berlin (see also gotischeshaus.de)

UNVEILED. Berlin and its monuments - in the Proviant Magazine.
