Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Tour 2020/21

In autumn 2021 Kenny Wayne Shepherd and the gifted guitarist Samantha Fish from Kansas City will delight German blues-rock fans.

The last quarter of a century in the life of Kenny Wayne Shepherd resembled an exciting road trip. The times in which the young gunslinger from Louisiana first stirred up the blues rock scene of the early 90s with his fire-roller-like guitar solos and his songwriting beyond all norms are far behind. The now 42-year-old has continued to develop and with his Fender Strat he penetrates levels that others do not even dare to approach. With an honesty that is only possible through experience and many miles on the clock, he delves deep into human truths and concerns.

In July 2020 Shepherd continued his journey with his current album "The Traveler". On her new album "Kill Or Be Kind", the gifted guitarist Samantha Fish from Kansas City flirts quite unabashedly and naturally with the traditional blues of her homeland, but in doing so she shifts the boundaries of the genre towards her very own, unmistakable sound. The Memphis soul song "She Don't Live Here Anymore", for example, pushes close to the borders of county music through the haunting vibrato of the guitar. "Love Your Lies", on the other hand, convinces with a balancing act of punk, rockabilly and soul, while "You Got It Bad ("Better Than You Ever Had") scores as a classic blues rocker.
