Three and a half years after the release of his last studio album, Zucchero "Sugar" Fornaciari announces his new longplayer this week: "D.O.C." will be the name of the Italian's 14th studio album, which will be released on November 8th 2019 via Polydor/Universal. With well over 60 million albums sold, the blues rock master Zucchero has long since become an icon of the international music scene. On his latest work, the blues rock master Zucchero sounds as honest and grounded as ever when he presents a total of 14 brand-new compositions (11 tracks + 3 bonus tracks) to his huge fanbase.

After the fall of the wall first western musicians in the Kremlin in Moscow

As one of the most important representatives of Italian blues-rock, Zucchero is one of the most successful artists in his country: His album "Oro, incenso e birra" alone has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide. Zucchero was the first musician from the West who was allowed to perform in the Moscow Kremlin after the fall of the wall. A little later he was the only Italian to perform at the 1994 edition of the Woodstock Festival, having already appeared at the "Freddie Mercury Tribute" concert at London's Wembley Stadium two years earlier. Involved in all of Nelson Mandela's "46664" concerts since 2006, he is one of the few Italians to have been nominated for a Grammy Award (in the category "Best R&B Traditional Vocal Collaboration" for his collaboration with Billy Preston and Eric Clapton). His concert in December 2012 in the park of the Higher Institute of Art in Havana has since been considered the greatest concert ever given by a foreigner in Cuba. Only in July 2018 did he stand in front of a similarly large audience (65,000 people) when he performed at the British Summer Time Festival in London's Hyde Park together with colleagues such as Eric Clapton, Santana and Steve Winwood.

Massive success beyond his own country's borders
Not least because of his numerous collaborations with other international stars, Zucchero has been able to celebrate massive success with his music far beyond his own national borders. Among the artists he has worked with over the last four decades are Bryan Adams, The Blues Brothers, Bono/U2, Jeff Beck, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Elvis Costello, Miles Davis, Peter Gabriel, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Mark Knopfler, Brian May, Luciano Pavarotti, Iggy Pop, Queen, Alejandro Sanz and Sting.
