The Kooks

They are perhaps the most influential indie rock band of our time: almost 20 years ago, The Kooks shook up the British music scene – and they haven't lost any of their appeal to this day.

It all began in picturesque Brighton in the early 2000s. The founding members, led by singer Luke Pritchard and guitarist Hugh Harris, met while studying music and wrote more than 100 songs within a few months. Two years later, Konk followed, with which The Kooks stormed to the top of the British charts and finally established themselves as a fixture in the indie scene. For their third album, Junk Of The Heart (2011), the band retreated to a farm to escape the hustle and bustle of success, before venturing into an experiment full of soul, gospel, and folk influences with Listen (2014). In 2018, the band returned to their indie roots with “Let's Go Sunshine.” Eventually, Luke Pritchard moved to Berlin, where he wrote the songs for “10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark,” released in 2022, during the pandemic. A more mature album, it combines classic Kooks elements with themes such as lost love, boozy party nights, and his new role as a father. In the spring of 2025, “Never/Know” followed as the seventh
