HAGEN QUARTETT & JULIA HAGEN

Works by Beethoven, Schubert, and Webern

It is the end of a musical era: 45 years after playing its first concert, the legendary Hagen Quartett comes to Berlin for the last time. For this farewell performance, the four musicians—whose past Pierre Boulez Saal appearances have included a celebrated Shostakovich cycle—have chosen string quartets by Beethoven and Webern. To conclude the program, they welcome the next generation: Julia Hagen, daughter of cellist Clemens Hagen, joins the ensemble for Schubert’s String Quintet.
