Machu Picchu: Journey to the Lost City

The Kantgaragen-Palast in Berlin invites you to take part in a freely accessible VR expedition to Machu Picchu – a journey back to the golden age of the Inca Empire.

A new immersive VR experience brings the world heritage site of Machu Picchu directly to Berlin-Charlottenburg – without any arduous climbs or crowds of tourists. Starting September 11, 2025, visitors can check out a detailed digital reconstruction of the legendary Inca site, based on exclusive footage captured during the pandemic using cutting-edge drone, LiDAR, and photogrammetry technology.

Virtual journey through time to the heart of the Andes: “Machu Picchu – Journey to the Lost City” opens up new perspectives

With the collaboration of historians and over 50 technical experts, a virtual environment has been created that combines historical accuracy with innovative technology. The freely accessible tour offers unique insights into the architecture and history of the Andean metropolis – from the Temple of the Sun to the famous terraces. The experience is aimed at families, history buffs, and explorers of all ages and offers a new, immediate way of imparting knowledge – exciting, accessible, and impressively staged.

The immersive expedition is available in five languages: German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
