Delcy Morelos (b. 1967) will present her first solo exhibition in Germany, featuring a new, large-scale, immersive installation exploring themes of the earth, indigenous knowledge, regeneration and the interconnectedness of nature and humanity. Her work will engage with the actions, sculptures and environments by Joseph Beuys on show in the permanent exhibition.

Delcy Morelos is known for her sensual, immersive sculptures and installations made from materials such as earth, clay, grass, cinnamon and cloves. Morelos (born 1967 in Tierralta, Colombia) has been working with drawing, painting, sculpture and installation for three decades. The Bogotá-based artist develops her artistic process by engaging with the colonial heritage and cosmologies of the Americas. She describes her art as an interweaving of materials, elements and knowledge. Since her first earth work “Eva” from 2012, she has been in an ongoing dialog with the earth to which she invites the public. In 2022, her sculpture “Earthly Paradise” was presented at the Venice Biennale. In 2024, her works were shown at the Dia Chelsea in New York, the Museo Moderno in Buenos Aires, the Pulitzer Arts Foundation in St. Louis, the Astrup Fearnley Museet in Oslo and the CAAC Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo in Seville, among others.
