Which plants grew in Berlin 300, 500, 800 years ago or even earlier? What was grown and what fruit did people eat here? The sediments from latrines and other waste pits, which have been excavated and researched for three years at Molkenmarkt in Berlin-Mitte, provide answers.
At the workshop table, experts in archaeobotany show how plant remains are extracted from sediment samples. Look through the microscope with them and learn how plants are identified, counted and the results analyzed. You can also try your hand at identification yourself.
It starts on May 26th with seeds and fruits. On a second date on July 9, we will focus on pollen and also come across whipworm eggs.
The workshop table is located in front of the restoration workshop on the 2nd floor. Just drop by, without registration and at any time!
