Design axolotl sock hand puppets

Do you know that axolotls are animals that can repair themselves? Torn off limbs grow back after some time. In our workshop we give a second life to lonely socks in need of repair.

Aus einer alten Socke entsteht eine Axolotl-Sockenpuppen. – Zwei Hände nähen an eine alte, pinkfarbene Socke einen Knopf als Auge an. Es entsteht eine Sockenpuppe.

Using needles, yarn, wool and colorful buttons, we will create fun axolotl sock hand puppets on the darning mushroom. This is an easy way to learn creative textile repair techniques. You can also weave a sustainable sponge from cut-up socks. You can take your sock puppet and sponge home with you.

With this family workshop, we would like to make you curious about our special exhibition "Repair!", which will open at the end of 2022.
