Number of Covid infections in Berlin rises significantly once again
More people are becoming infected with the Coronavirus again in Berlin.

According to the Senate's situation report released Tuesday (Dec. 21, 2021), Berlin health departments reported 2941 new infections in one day - 362 more than last Tuesday. Five more people died from or with Covid-19.
Coronavirus warning light set to red
The traffic light for the Coronavirus incidence in the country's warning system is set to red. The seven-day incidence of Coronavirus reaches 325.8, up from 307.8 a week ago. The figure indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have become infected within a week. The warning light for the intensive care bed occupancy also flashes red. More than one in five ICU beds in Berlin are currently occupied by Covid patients. The rate was 22 percent on Tuesday.
Hospitalization rate at 5.2
The number of hospitalizations is also on the rise. 5.2 out of every 100,000 people in Berlin were hospitalized in connection with a Covid infection within seven days. A week ago, this so-called hospitalization incidence was at 4.7. The warning light for the hospitalization rate remains on orange.
