Coronavirus incidence at around 360

The number of Coronavirus infections remains high in Berlin.

In the past seven days, 360.7 out of 100,000 people in Berlin were proven to be infected with the Coronavirus, the Robert Koch Institute announced on Friday morning (03 December 2021). The seven-day incidence was thus similar to Friday last week and sits below the national average of about 442.

Five more deaths reported

Berlin health offices reported 2538 new infections in one day. In total, there were 282,068 Covid infections in Berlin since the beginning of the pandemic. Five additional people died in connection with a Coronavirus infection, bringing the number of corresponding deaths to 3849.

Situation in intensive care units worsens

Meanwhile, the hospitalization rate, which measures how many Covid patients per 100,000 people were admitted to hospitals in a seven-day period, rose to 4.5. On Thursday, the hospitalization rate was 4.4. The number of intensive care beds occupied by Covid-19 patients also increased from 20.2 to 21 percent.
