RKI: Coronavirus incidence in Berlin decreases slightly

Coronavirus incidence in Berlin shwoed a slight decrease on Wednesday (December 01, 2021). According to the latest data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the incidence value was 370.3 in the early morning.

The value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been proven to be infected with the virus in the past seven days. On the previous day, the incidence was 372.1, compared to a value of 348.6 a week ago Wednesday. The nationwide incidence showed an even greater decline, dropping to 442.9 on Wednesday from 452.2 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the RKI registered 2553 newly infected people in Berlin. This brought the total number of reported Covid infections in Berlin to 276,984 since the start of the pandemic. Five additional deaths in connection with Covid-19 were reported, meaning that 3835 people in Berlin have been confirmed to have died from or with the virus.
The number of Coronavirus patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - the so-called hospitalization rate - now plays a key role in the political assessment of the pandemic. The incidence was 4.1 on Wednesday, up from 3.5 on Tuesday. 19.1 percent of beds in ICUs were occupied by Covid patients on Wednesday, according to the situation report.
