Berlin expands number of vaccination centers

In light of the high demand for Coronavirus vaccinations in Berlin, vaccination center capacities are to be significantly expanded.

A new vaccination center is scheduled to open inside the Ring-Center shopping mall on Frankfurter Allee on Friday morning (Nov. 26, 2021). The center will be able to provide up to 1,000 daily vaccinations. It replaces an earlier, significantly smaller site with a capacity of around 400 vaccinations per day, a spokesman for the Senate Department of Health saidc on Thursday. Previously, the RBB news program "Abendschau"and the newspaper Berliner Zeitung had reported on it on Wednesday and Thursdasy respectively.
On Monday, another vaccination center with a capacity of 600 daily vaccinations is schedules to open inside the leisure center Freizeitforum Marzahn- The same week, another new vaccination center will open at the trotting track in Berlin-Karlshorst. All three new vaccination centers are located in the eastern part of Berlin. The two vaccination centers that had previously existed there had already been closed in the summer. Two of Berlin's former six vaccination centers are currently still in operation: the center on the exhibition grounds in Charlottenburg and the one on the site of the former Tegel airport in the far northwest of the city.
