Coronavirus incidence and hospitalization rate stagnate

The incidence of Coronavirus in Berlin is currently stagnating at a high level.

The Robert Koch Institute reported an incidence value of 344.8 on Thursday morning (Nov. 25, 2021), up from 348.6 the day before. The value represents the number of people per 100,000 inhabitants that have been confirmed to be infected with the virus in the past seven days.

Slight decline of hospitalization rate

The hospitalization rate, which indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants were hospitalized after a Coronavirus infection within a week, also fell slightly. The rate was 3.8 in Berlin on Thursday morning, according to the Berlin situation report, down from 4.1 the previous day.

More Covid patients in ICUs

The occupancy of intensive care units with Coronavirus patients increased slightly. According to the report, 19.6 percent of available ICU beds were occupied by Covid patients, compared to 18.8 percent on Wednesday and 11.7 percent at the beginning of November.

Around 2700 new infections reported

According to the RKI, 2711 new cases of infection were registered in Berlin between Wednesday and Thursday. This brought the total number of Coronavirus infections in Berlin since the start of the pandemic to 265,024. The RKI also reported seven additional deaths related to the virus. Thus, according to the data, 3795 Berliners have died from or with Covid-19 so far.
