Coronavirus incidence just under 280

The incidence of Coronavirus infections in Berlin continues to rise. According to the latest data provided by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the incidence value was 279.2 on Friday (November 12, 2021).

The figure indicates how many proven infections per 100,000 inhabitants have been registered in the past seven days. The seven-day incidence in Berlin is currently at the highest level since the outbreak of the pandemic. It is also significantly above the national average, which is at just under 264. A week ago, the incidence in Berlin was still at 160. The numbers have been rising significantly for weeks.

Over 2000 new infections reported

Health offices in Berlin reported 2,184 new infections on Friday. On Friday a week ago, there were 1,560 new infections. There were three more deaths related to Covid-19 infections, bringing the total number of death in connection with the virus to 3,756. The total number of infections in Berlin since the pandemic is now at 240,189. The incidence is currently highest in the district of Neukölln (331.6).
