Significant increase in coronavirus incidence in Berlin

In Berlin, the incidence of coronavirus infections continues to rise significantly.

Within the past seven days, 95.7 people per 100,000 inhabitants have been proven to be newly infected with the virus, according to the latest data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) as of Wednesday morning (Oct. 20, 2021). The previous day, this figure was 92.5, and a week ago on Wednesday, it was 80.4. Between Tuesday and Wednesday, 824 new cases were registered in Berlin. Two additional Covid-19-related deaths were reported in the same period. This brought the total number of Corona deaths since the start of the pandemic to 3667. A total of 215,360 people have been infected with the virus in Berlin since then.
