Thus, after the increase in August, the seven-day incidence has hardly changed since the beginning of September. The value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been newly infected with the coronavirus in the past seven days. Berlin is at about the same level as the national average (81.1). The incidence values are lower in eastern Germany, but higher in large parts of western Germany.
761 new Corona infections were registered in Berlin, according to the RKI. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 199,260 cases of Corona infections have been reported in Berlin. Five more deaths related to Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday. This brought the total number of deaths to 3607. Just over 62 percent of Berliners are fully vaccinated.

The Corona traffic light in Berlin is yellow twice and green once. The traffic light system is intended to warn when the corona situation is developing critically. The three indicators include the seven-day incidence, the proportion of intensive care beds occupied by corona patients and the so-called hospitalisation rate. This indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants were admitted to hospital within one week after an infection with Corona.
