Within one week, 5.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants were recorded, as emerged from the dashboard of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI/as of 03.13 am) on Wednesday morning (07 July 2021). The previous day, the value had been given as 5.3; on Sunday, it had been lower than for a long time at 4.8. Now the incidence is back at about the same level as in the middle of last week. Compared to Tuesday, another 55 new infections were recorded, and one death related to the virus was added. According to RKI statistics, 180,378 people in Berlin have been infected since the beginning of the pandemic. Most are considered to have recovered. 3562 people died in connection with the coronavirus. As the health administration's situation report shows, the proportion of the more infectious delta variant has also risen significantly in the capital recently.
