36.0: Incidence increased again, fewer intensive care patients

In Berlin, the seven-day incidence of Corona infections has risen slightly again. On 29 May 2021, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week at 36.0. The previous day, the value was 35.0.

According to the RKI, 285 new infections were registered. 17 more people died in connection with Corona. The number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic thus increased to 3482. 178,221 Berliners have been infected with the virus so far. 171,500 people are considered to have recovered. The general trend in new infections has been declining for weeks, so that politicians are looking at further easing of previous restrictions.

According to the health administration's situation report on Saturday, Berlin's Corona traffic light continues to be green for the occupancy of intensive care beds. According to the report, 13.2 percent of intensive care places are occupied by Covid 19 patients. The day before, it was 14.9 percent. The health administration gave the number of all vaccinations in Berlin as 2,067,181 (as of 28 May). According to this, 39.8 per cent of the inhabitants have received a first shot against the virus, 16.5 percent also the second dose.
