In the Corona pandemic, the seven-day incidence in Berlin has fallen again and is now well below 50 at 39.3.
This was announced by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Wednesday morning (26 May 2021). On Tuesday, the value had fallen below the politically relevant value of 50 for the first time since October last year. The figure indicates how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported in the past seven days. In Germany as a whole, the value fell below 50 on Wednesday for the first time since October last year and stood at 46.8.
23 new infections reported
However, the RKI points out that on weekends and holidays such as Whit Monday, fewer people visit the doctor and therefore fewer samples are taken and fewer laboratory tests are carried out. The current figures could therefore deviate from the actual incidence of infection. According to the report, 230 new cases were registered in Berlin from Tuesday to Wednesday. 14 more people died in connection with Covid-19, bringing the number of Corona deaths to 3454 in Berlin.
