Corona incidence falls below 50 again

For the first time since October last year, the seven-day incidence in Berlin has fallen below 50. On Monday (24 May 2021), the value was 46.5, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

The previous day, it had been 55.9. The value indicates how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported in the past seven days. From Monday to Tuesday, 71 new cases were registered in the capital. Another person died in connection with Covid-19, bringing the number of Corona deaths in Berlin to 3440 on Monday.

However, the RKI points out that on weekends and holidays such as Whit Monday, fewer people visit the doctor and therefore fewer samples are taken and fewer laboratory tests are carried out. The current numbers could therefore deviate from the actual incidence of infection.
