The incidence of corona in Berlin is slightly declining again. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 63 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days on 18 May 2021, compared to just under 69 cases previously.
370 new infections have been reported. The number of deaths has now reached 3403. 175,654 people have been reported as infected in Berlin since the beginning of the pandemic. If the incidence value remains below 100 for five working days in a row, relaxations are possible on the day after next. In Berlin, this would be possible for the first time on Wednesday. The Senate wants the first steps to be taken as early as then. For example, museums and memorials could reopen under certain conditions. From the Friday before Whitsun, outdoor cafés and restaurants would be allowed to serve guests again. This was decided by the Senate on Friday.
