Corona incidence in Berlin at 66.9

The incidence of corona continues to fall in Berlin. On Sunday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 66.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days after 67.3 cases the previous day.

A swab is held in an outpatient corona testing facility.

At the same time, the RKI did not register any new deaths. The number of people who have died in Berlin as a result of Covid-19 or with the disease remains unchanged at 3399. 165,600 people are considered to have recovered. Within one day, 173 people were newly infected - 175,192 people in total since the beginning of the pandemic.
The RKI pointed out that when interpreting the case numbers, it should be noted that fewer people visit a doctor on holidays and bridging days, which also means that fewer samples are taken and fewer laboratory tests are carried out.
If the incidence value remains below 100 for five working days in a row, relaxations are possible on the day after next. In Berlin, this would be possible for the first time on Wednesday. The Senate wants the first steps to be taken as early as then. Museums and memorials, for example, could then reopen under certain conditions. From the Friday before Whitsun, outdoor cafés and restaurants would be allowed to serve guests again. This was decided by the Senate on Friday.
