Health Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) wants to meet with the association of company doctors on Monday and Tuesday. The federation has announced the start of vaccination in companies for 7 June 2021. "The Berlin business community is preparing to build vaccination capacity in Berlin companies. We are starting with our pilot project today in six critical infrastructure companies with 5000 vaccination doses," Kalayci announced on Monday. Berlin companies are to be included in the pilot project with a further 8000 vaccination doses.
According to the statement, vaccination in companies is thus to be tested and the time until the nationwide start of vaccination in companies is to be bridged. The Senate administration described the possibility as a further "milestone" in vaccination management alongside the centres and doctors' practices. For the start of the pilot project, the pharmaceutical companies Bayer and Berlin Chemie have set up so-called "vaccination streets", as the Senate Administration further announced. Here, employees of these companies, but also employees of the critical infrastructure - such as the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), Vattenfall and Berliner Wasserbetriebe - are to be vaccinated.
